"After my original video and after the second interview I did, in which I showed the photograph taken in the year 2118, I have decided it is time to share every detail of my experience." According to the time traveler, WW3 is set to take place soon Terrifyingly, he predicts that the world will experience a third global war at some point in the next 100 years, and afterwards, most people will be forced to live in towering metropolises with cutting-edge technology, AI systems, aliens, and flying transport. Smith is convinced that the civilization-changing conflict would be sparked by a “conflict of interests” between the United States and North Korea in the near future. In the video, he explained: "The conflict started off small, however, it soon spread and Russia soon took the side of North Korea. "Tensions began to escalate, and eventually missiles were fired. "I can't say where these missiles hit; however, I can say the effects were not what one may consider desirable. White House border czar Tom Homan said Sunday that an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent linked to the fatal shooting of a Colombian national in Maine may never have cleared the agency's screening process if allegations of domestic violence and misconduct are substantiated.Speaking on CNN's State of the Union, Homan addressed questions surrounding the officer, identified in media reports as David Brouillette, stating that the allegations raised serious concerns about whether ICE's vetting procedures functioned properly."If those are facts, I don't think he should ever have cleared vetting," Homan said. "How did the vetting process fail? Was that information not available? Did they not know? So, there's a separate administrative investigation on what happened here."Newsweek reached out to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Maine Attorney General's Office on Sunday.What Happened in the Maine ICE Shooting?Johan Sebastián Durán Guerrero, a 25-year-old Colombian national who was legally authorized to work in the United States, was shot and killed during an ICE operation in Biddeford, Maine, on July 13.The DHS initially stated that agents were conducting surveillance on the last known address of an individual with a final removal order when they attempted a vehicle stop. DHS reported that the driver attempted to flee and an officer discharged a weapon out of concern for public safety.The incident drew national scrutiny after DHS officials confirmed that Durán Guerrero was not the target of the operation. Security-camera footage reviewed by Newsweek showed the aftermath of the shooting, including a white Kia sedan moving erratically through an intersection after gunfire erupted. Witnesses reported hearing five shots. Additional footage showed federal agents pulling Durán Guerrero from the vehicle and attempting medical aid after he was handcuffed.The shooting sparked protests across Maine and renewed questions about ICE's use of force during vehicle stops. It also intensified criticism after it was revealed that agents involved in the operation were not wearing body cameras despite a yearslong federal push to expand their use.Allegations Against ICE Agent Raise New QuestionsMedia reports identified Brouillette, an Army veteran and former Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) police officer, as the agent who fired the fatal shots. Court records and interviews detailed allegations of domestic violence, mental health challenges, and protective orders involving two former spouses, which Brouillette denied in court filings.One ex-wife told reporters she had experienced severe domestic violence during their marriage. Another alleged Brouillette stalked and harassed her and physically abused a daughter. Family court records cited by the Associated Press included requests for temporary protection orders, including one that resulted in a judge temporarily ordering Brouillette to relinquish his firearms.Some Democrats have seized on those reports to question how the officer passed ICE screening during the agency's rapid expansion under President Donald Trump's mass-deportation agenda.On Sunday, Homan appeared to acknowledge those concerns."If this person had that type of history, it would have been a vetting issue, and it should have been brought to the attention of those who make those decisions," he said on State of the Union.Homan said the review extends beyond the officer's background. "There's several things under review. The training is under review. Acting ICE Director David Venturella has introduced interim operational adjustments, including mandating the use of at least one body camera during vehicle stops and deploying experienced agents to support operations.The Maine shooting remains under investigation by the FBI, the Maine Attorney General's Office and the DHS's Office of Inspector General.Mexican National Fatally Shot by ICE Agents in HoustonDurán Guerrero's death came less than a week after another fatal ICE shooting in Houston involving Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, a Mexican national who had lived in the U.S. for 35 years. Three men who were also in the van and were detained by ICE have disputed that account.Lorenzo Salgado Jr., one of Salgado Araujo’s sons, testified at a Friday congressional hearing, criticizing ICE and the DHS.“Over the past two weeks we’ve had to grieve our father too soon,” he said. “DHS first said ICE targeted our father, then admitted he was never their intended target at all. "I know some people are ashamed to talk about it, but I wanted to share how it helped me, and I don't like secrets as a whole," she said. O'Donnell said she has steadily lost "a pound or two a month for three years". "So Mounjaro saved my life," she said. "I’ve lost a pound or two a month for three years. I really wish I could do commercials for Mounjaro and they would drop the price instead of paying me." "Because when I see people struggling with obesity, I want to say I know the shame that we carry and the humiliation that is dealt to people who are overweight." She says childhood grief changed everything The comedian traced her struggles with weight back to 1973, when her mother, Roseann O'Donnell, died. "When my mom died, all of us children gained weight," she recalled. She explained that her father would give the children money to shop for the family's groceries while they were still very young. "My father would give us a one hundred dollar bill, and we would go to Foodtown to do the food shopping. Now if you're 11-years-old and you're shopping for a family of five, there's nothing nutritious about it," she said. "It was Entenmann's and Cap'n Crunch and we would always say, 'Subtotal please,' and when it got near one hundred, we'd put back the chicken and the hamburger meat." She added: "Everyone got heavy. Everyone was in such grief and trauma." O'Donnell also reflected on the pressure she felt throughout her years in television, revealing she often worried more about how she looked than her performances. "When I would do late night, my biggest concern wasn't my set, it was, did I look fat?" she said. Recalling one of her earliest television appearances, she continued: "The first time I did a talk show, it was Pat Sajak and people were saying 'You were so good,' and I'd go, 'How did I look in that blazer?' I wasn't even heavy then." Today, she says the weight she has lost has transformed how she feels physically. "I feel much healthier and more powerful in my physicality," she added. A Brit who sold his whole life on eBay nearly 20 years ago previously revealed what had happened since he made the decision. Ian Usher, 62, left Darlington after selling his "entire life," and that isn't an exaggeration. Following a painful divorce, he decided to sell his three-bedroom home and everything inside it, including his car, motorbike, and jet ski, in Perth, Australia . After the split, Ian realized he was sick and tired of his job and life after moving to the land down under. He would accept a bid of AUD $399,300 (£379,800 at the time) for everything he owned, and while he aimed to generate more funds, he said there were "no regrets." His plan after this? To travel. He said that he wanted to visit the top of the Eiffel Tower, which was part of a "huge list of things" he wanted to complete. Ian Usher sold his life for a new one in the wild. Credit: Channel 5 Ian Usher traveled the world Ian wanted a "fresh start," and travelled the world with 100 goals to complete in 100 weeks, with the bucket list culminating with a visit to the crown of the Statue of Liberty in New York , back on July 4, 2010. But soon after, the Brit adopted an entirely new lifestyle. In 2014, documentarian Ben Fogle caught up with Ian, as he moved to a deserted island in the Caribbean to start a new life. He would feature in an episode of Ben Fogle: New Lives in the Wild, where Ian starred alongside partner Vanessa Anderson on their tropical island, Bocas del Toro, just off the coast of Panama. "I’ve always been a bit of an adventurer and so have always spent a lot of time pursuing outdoor activities such as climbing, canoeing, and diving," Ian explained. The Brit didn't have running water or electricity on his island, but it gave him an opportunity to pursue his outdoor activities. He told Fogle: "We're not completely self-sufficient here on the island. "We do grow coconuts, pineapples, yuka, sugar cane, and almonds but we haven’t yet perfected the art of growing other vegetables on our land. "We have 10 chickens who roam free on the island so our eggs are totally organic. Sometimes the local Indians will bring freshly caught fish to the dock for us to buy. "Everything else comes from the supermarket in town or Ernie’s Jungle 7/11 – a small store on the edge of the jungle." Life on the island Ian bought the island back in 2011 for just $27,500, when it was neglected, and he spent four years improving it. While he lived there, he would spend time working on the land or relaxing on the beach. His new life allowed him to choose between activities including snorkeling on the reefs, reading, swimming, and more, from day to day. But every 10 days, Ian and Vanessa would have to make the trip into town for food and fuel. He said that his partner had a huge role in him pursuing his new life, as she moved over to live with him after they had met in London. "I wouldn’t change anything - I really enjoyed building an off-grid home and living on the island. I've always thought life is supposed to be an adventure." Back in 2015, the couple sold the renovated island, according to his official website , where he has kept a blog to update followers with his journey since selling his life. He celebrated the fact that he was debt-free after the sale, and shared that he had settled down in Burgundy, France, after traveling the world with Vanessa. But that was in 2021 - Ian posted updates last year, revealing that he had suffered a small plane crash, which left him with a broken leg. Learning to fly a plane was something that was on his list, and while he completed it in 2010, he wanted to become more experienced. Gas Prices Soar Over $4: What This Means for the Upcoming Midterms

The price of gasoline has soared past $4 per gallon in 28 states, amid renewed hostilities between the U.S. and Iran, posing a problem for President Donald Trump ahead of the midterm elections taking place 100 days from Sunday.Studies by AAA found that 60 percent of American drivers will have trouble paying for gas if it hits $4 a gallon at the pump. The $4 figure is viewed as a psychologically important threshold that impacts consumer sentiment, posing a problem for the Trump administration as Americans go to the polls on November 3. Newsweek has contacted the White House for comment. ...Battleground State Gas Prices As a map by Newsweek shows, prices in 28 states are over the $4 benchmark, including in the key midterm battleground states of Michigan ($4.23), Maine ($4.10), and New Hampshire ($4.06), according to AAA which listed a national average of $4.11 on Sunday. Michigan is an open seat after the retirement of Senator Gary Peters, a Democrat, and the race is widely seen as one of the most competitive. In Maine, former state Senate President Troy Jackson became the Democrats’ Senate nominee starting a sprint in the must-win race for his party. Meanwhile, the retirement of Democratic Senator Jeanne Shaheen leaves open a Senate race in New Hampshire which Trump lost by fewer than 3 percentage points in the 2024 election. In the battleground states of Georgia ($3.92) and Ohio ($3.89) the price of gas has not yet breached the $4 barrier. In Georgia, Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff is seeking reelection in a state Trump carried in 2024, making it a key race to determine Senate control. Democrats are targeting Ohio as a GOP-held seat that could become competitive. California had the highest average gas price in the nation at $5.64 as of Sunday while Indiana had the lowest at $3.51 per gallon.Why Gas Is Expensive The U.S. and Israel launched airstrikes against Iran on February 28 to degrade its military capabilities and ability to develop a nuclear weapon. Tehran in turn blockaded the Strait of Hormuz through which in pre-war times, one fifth of the world's oil and gas transited. This upended energy markets with the price of a barrel of Brent crude, the global benchmark, going over $100. Prices at the pump have increased from an average of $2.98 a gallon before the war. Gas at the pump first crossed the $4 mark on March 31, just over a month into the Iran war. The price then hit a four-year high of $4.56 in early May before falling on hopes that a deal between Iran and the United States would reopen the critical waterway and release oil tankers trapped in the Persian Gulf. Prices dipped after the countries signed a memorandum of understanding on June 17 but have started to climb again after Tehran resumed attacks on ships in the Strait, prompting a U.S. retaliation. But now there is also the rising threat of Houthi attacks in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Red Sea waterway which is the other major route for sea-borne oil. Taylor Rogers, a White House spokesperson, said this week as the U.S. military degrades Iran's ability to attack commercial vessels and disrupt the free flow of energy through the Strait of Hormuz, "oil and gas prices will plummet back to pre-conflict levels." After the man remained seated, Chavez was seen hitting him on the back of the head before the younger fan eventually stood. The incident took place at a Chicago Cubs game. One person described Chavez as an "absolute patriot," while another wrote: "As much as I agree with the older gentleman…we don't hit other people." A third commenter said: "Respect for the anthem should never come [through] violence." Vietnam veteran explains why he confronted fan Speaking to Inside Edition, Chavez said his experiences serving in Vietnam influenced his emotional reaction. "I was telling him, 'Please stand up,' you know, 'have some respect,'" he said. However, he admitted he regretted striking the fan. "Because even though I fought in Vietnam and I had buddies killed, we fight for the rights of the people, and that's one of his rights." Chavez added that if he had the chance, he would take back the slap. The viral video ended before showing what happened next, but Chavez said the encounter ultimately ended on friendly terms. "Later on, during the game, next thing you know, he's buying me a beer," Chavez recalled. "We talked, we shook hands...I overreacted. I could have handled it better, I wish I would have...But my feelings are the same, people should stand." According to TMZ , security staff responded to the incident, but the younger fan reportedly asked that Chavez not be removed from the stadium. Cubs release statement The Chicago Cubs later confirmed that security officers spoke with the fan who had been hit. In a statement , the team said: "The National Anthem is an important tradition at Chicago Cubs games." It continued: "While we respect the rights of individuals to decide for themselves, we encourage every fan to stand, if they are able, and to remove their caps while the anthem is being played." The Cubs added that fan safety remained their priority: "At the same time, the safety and security of our fans is our top priority. We expect all guests to treat one another with respect and to follow our Fan Code of Conduct, which prohibits physical confrontations and threatening behavior." The statement concluded: "Our security team spoke with the fan who had been struck. He indicated that the matter had been resolved, he did not want to have anyone ejected from the ballpark or any further action taken, and we respected his wishes."
