Courtney Clenney, known online as Courtney Tailor, is a social media personality who boasts over 1.7 million Instagram followers. The NSFW content creator is currently due to stand trial for the killing of her partner Christian Obumseli, who died from a knife wound in April 2022. Clenney has remained in custody since August of that same year, after emerging as the primary suspect. The influencer was 26 at the time of her arrest, after she had allegedly stabbed Obumseli to death in their Miami home over four years ago. She denies second-degree murder with a weapon, though she was also accused of taking her crypto-trader boyfriend's computer from the murder scene after it was missed by authorities; they finally accessed it with a password given by his daughter. The couple had been together for less than two years at the time of his death on April 3, 2022. Credit: Hawaii Police Department Clenney agrees to plea deal The 30-year-old has reportedly agreed to a plea deal, which may result in her dodging a life sentence for the charges. Specific terms around the agreement have not yet been disclosed, with the deal still needing to be approved by a judge. Clenney's legal team have remained tight-lipped on the ordeal, reportedly saying via the Daily Star : "We will reserve further comment on the specific terms until they are placed on the record before the Court." The adult star has had run-ins with the law in the past, having previously been arrested for domestic battery in Las Vegas. Clenney and Obumseli had also dealt with authorities over the years, as cops had been called to their home in Austin, Texas, on numerous occasions. Clenney and her boyfriend moved to Miami at the beginning of 2022, with staff and residents at the One Paraiso building, where they lived, filing several domestic disturbance complaints about the couple. Some had even moved to evict the couple from the premises. Police reports reveal that officers arrived at the residence at around 5 PM on April 3, 2022, following a call about an aggravated battery when the stabbing incident took place. The influencer was seen and later pictured wearing a blood-soaked robe and sweatpants. Obumseli was rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the torso, but he would sadly be pronounced dead on arrival. Clenney first claimed self-defence to investigators, but she would ultimately be charged with his murder months on, while she was attending a rehab centre in Hawaii. More than half of Gen Z adults (51%) say they feel lonely on a typical weekend — the highest rate of any generation and a staggering 37 percentage points higher than 62-to-80-year-old Baby Boomers.Nearly half (49%) admit they don’t have enough friends to spend time with in person, while 65% say they now experience their social lives more through their phones than face-to-face.“I want more spontaneous moments in my life to meet new people or make more friends,” one respondent admitted.Instead of bars and parties, staying home has become the new normal. Nearly three-quarters (74%) say they spend at least half of their weekends lazing, while 73% say staying in has become their default plan.They don’t party hard like Gen Xers did. Breakthrough Twist in Idaho Murders: What Was Found in Victim’s Hand?

Bryan Kohberger has claimed, a year on from his sentencing, that a recent "discovery" may prove his innocence in the Idaho murders . Back in July 2025, Kohberger was handed four life sentences for the murders of four University of Idaho students : Madison May Mogen, Kaylee Jade Goncalves, Xana Alexia Kernodle, and Ethan James Chapin in their home. Renewed attention has been brought to the case following the release of Netflix crime documentary The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare on July 29. But now Kohberger , who is serving four life sentences for the crime, is attempting to withdraw the guilty plea that spared him from standing trial, as well as the death penalty. He has requested the withdrawal in a petition for post-conviction relief filed in Idaho’s Fourth Judicial District Court, as reported by People . Kohberger has attempted to withdraw his guilty plea. Credit: Pool / Getty Kohberger's "exculpatory discovery" claim The convicted murderer wrote in the affidavit attached to his petition that his legal team didn't inform him of some key evidence that was turned over by prosecutors in plea discussions. He suggests that this evidence would have changed his decision to plead guilty. Kohberger wrote in the filing: “Namely, clumps of hair found in Ethan Chapin’s hands.” According to a report from the Trace Evidence Unit at the Federal Bureau of Investigation in January 2023, results of laboratory testing on evidence found at the crime scene included this information. The report detailed that debris was found in Chapin's right hand, as well as Kernodle's left hand, with their bodies found just mere feet apart. It further added that the debris was “examined for hairs microscopically consistent with hairs in the head hair sample” from Kohberger, but this wasn't found. A filing from his attorney, Anne Taylor, on June 6, 2025, detailed this just one month after Kohberger's plea deal was made with prosecutors. The "clumps of hair" description isn't included in any filings or records, with it instead featuring in the book Broken Plea, which was written by former FBI agent Christ Whitcomb about the murders. Kohberger's petition and affidavit bring up some of the same points made by the former federal agent, as he looked to find the reason for the “unexplained plea”. Whitcomb has claimed since the release of his book in May that the “clumps of hair” in Chapin’s hand had not been tested, as Kohberger claimed there was a “failure of further inquiry” into this evidence. Credit: @kayleegoncalves / Instagram DNA expert tested hair A court document earlier this year revealed that a DNA expert named Ruth Ballard was hired by Kohberger's defense to test the debris in Chapin's hand. She examined one hair from the right hand” of Chapin, finding it to be “morphologically consistent with Decedent Chapin’s own reference hair.” It is unknown if Kohberger knew of these findings prior to the petition, or if he plans to claim that there were other samples of hair left untested by the FBI or experts. He further argued that he was led to believe whether he was actually guilty was irrelevant when deciding whether to accept the plea agreement. In the filing, Kohberger claimed he was "advised to lie" and told he would secure a "legal victory" by entering what he described as a "false plea". The claims mirror remarks Kohberger recently made during an interview with The New York Times, where he again maintained his innocence and argued he had been manipulated into pleading guilty. "My actual innocence is my truth, and the plea, hinged on by false promises and blatant disinformation, MUST be withdrawn," he said in a statement provided to the newspaper. A hoarding Florida mail carrier accused of “collecting cats” along her postal route was arrested after deputies discovered more than 100 animals living inside her feces-filled home, where some rooms were buried under a foot of waste, authorities said.Gail Giustino, 77, was busted after detectives armed with a search warrant made the foul-smelling discovery on July 20 inside the cat lady’s house in Stuart, located about 40 miles north of West Palm Beach, according to the Martin County Sheriff’s Office.Sheriff John Budensiek said authorities tried to get inside the uncooperative elderly woman’s home for weeks after someone reported that a postal worker was “stealing or collecting cats” on the job. Gail Giustino, 77, was charged with two misdemeanors. Martin County Sheriff's OfficeWhen those efforts failed, investigators obtained a warrant.Detectives, firefighters and animal control officers wearing hazmat suits entered the musty house and encountered an overpowering stench, sweltering temperatures, no air conditioning or ventilation, and more than 100 animals living in cages and squalor.“The stench was unreal,” Budensiek said. “The air was stifling hot. Clearly, this is a hoarder scenario, worst case of animal hoarding that I’ve seen here in Martin County.”The pets — roughly 70 cats and the rest dogs — were in “pretty terrible shape,” an animal rescuer told Fox News.There were about 70 cats found in the home in cages. “They were really just shut down. Some of the cats were catatonic; they wouldn’t even move. They were traumatized,” the rescuer added.Since 2014, Giustino’s home has been hit with about 65 citations because of the conditions she kept her animals in, according to police. “Do we want to arrest a 77-year-old lady? The answer is absolutely not,” Budensiek said. “We truly believe that Gail thinks she’s doing the right thing, but she’s doing it the wrong way.”She was charged with one count each of animal cruelty and confinement of animals without sufficient exercise. She could have faced up to 160 counts of animal cruelty, the outlet reported.Giustino, who has worked for the US Postal Service since 1997, has been released on $50,000 bond. Budensiek said he hopes the process leads to her getting mental health treatment.Some parts of the home had up to one foot of feces in it, police said. In the days following the arrest, county officials were able to find three of the four cats who escaped the house of horrors during the rescue operation. One of Giustino’s friends surrendered five more small pets that the postal worker allegedly left in her care, Sarah Fisher of the Humane Society of Treasure Coast told Fox News.By July 29, the humane society had received 108 pets from her home. And dozens of people have been lining up each day hoping to be reunited with their missing furry friends and felines. Authorities recovered the animals on July 20 when they arrested the elderly woman. Several people have already been joyfully reconnected with their fur babies. “There were grown men crying; there were kids crying. It was so emotional,” Fisher told the outlet. Linh Nguyen, who had been searching for her 6-year-old cat Patchy for seven months, said her prayers for a “miracle” were finally answered. The U.S. State Department has renewed its travel advisory for the Bahamas, urging Americans to "exercise increased caution," despite an improvement in crime statistics.The State Department also warned visitors about risks tied to boating, beaches, hurricanes and strict firearms laws. "Stay alert in vacation rental properties, especially where private security is not present," says the alert issued Tuesday."Boating is not well regulated. Injuries and deaths have occurred. There have been reports of sexual assaults by Jet Ski operators."The updated travel advisory keeps The Bahamas at Level 2, the second-lowest advisory level, meaning Americans are not being told to outright avoid travel or reconsider trips. Around 9.5 million Americans visited The Bahamas in 2024 (85 percent of 11.2 million total visitors). Why It MattersThe Bahamas is one of the Caribbean’s most popular destinations for U.S. vacationers, especially cruise passengers and travelers visiting Nassau, Paradise Island, Freeport and the Family Islands. But crime data suggests a mixed level of safety. Violent crime remains a concern in parts of Nassau and Freeport, while several major crime categories declined sharply in 2025, according to Royal Bahamas Police Force figures. The State Department’s Level 2 warning means travelers should take extra precautions, particularly in areas where crime has historically been more common. ...What To KnowThe U.S. State Department’s latest Bahamas Travel Advisory says visitors should exercise increased caution because of crime, noting that violent crime can occur in the country and that "most crime occurs in Nassau and Freeport" on New Providence and Grand Bahama islands. The advisory specifically tells travelers to stay alert in the "Over the Hill" area in Nassau, south of Shirley Street, where gangs have killed residents, and to remain cautious in vacation rental properties, especially where private security is not present. "By international standards, the Bahamas has a relatively high rate of violent crime, but it's highly localized in places that are generally far from the usual tourist resorts," Alex Andreichuk, CEO of Altezza Travel, told Newsweek."Whether or not tourists are in real danger depends on how much of a 'local' experience they're seeking. Wandering through neighborhoods that drive the country's crime statistics is never a good idea, and that's not unique to the Bahamas."The State Department also warned about safety issues involving boating and personal watercraft, saying boating is not well regulated and that injuries and deaths have occurred. Due to these safety risks, U.S. government employees are not allowed to use or rent Jet Skis and personal watercraft from independent operators on New Providence and Paradise Islands.A separate security alert from the U.S. Embassy in the Bahamas in June said the embassy had received multiple reports involving Jet Ski operators and U.S. women in 2024, 2025 and 2026, and said six U.S. citizens had been hospitalized with Jet Ski accident injuries since August 2024. The newly updated advisory also warns Americans that firearms and ammunition are illegal in the Bahamas, including small quantities in your carry-on bags or luggage. Travelers have faced arrest, jail time and fines after authorities found firearms or ammunition. Is Crime Actually Up In The Bahamas?The latest crime report from the Royal Bahamas Police Force points to a decline in major crime generally in 2025 compared to 2024. Major crimes decreased by 15 percent, from 2,825 cases in 2024 to 2,409 cases in 2025. Crimes against people fell 27 percent, from 696 incidents in 2024 to 509 in 2025, while crimes against property fell 11 percent, from 2,129 to 1,900 incidents. Homicides also fell 31 percent, from 120 incidents in 2024 to 83 incidents in 2025, according to the police report. Armed robberies also declined 39 percent, from 265 incidents in 2024 to 162 in 2025. However, not every category improved. Attempted murders rose 23 percent nationally, from 31 in 2024 to 38 in 2025, and stealing from vehicles increased 7 percent, from 187 to 200 incidents. Stolen vehicles also jumped 2 percent, from 392 to 398 incidents. The police figures also show that New Providence, home to Nassau and Paradise Island, accounted for the bulk of many serious offenses. In 2025, New Providence recorded 76 of the country’s 83 murders and 157 of its 162 armed robberies.Are Tourists Being Targeted More?The latest OSAC Bahamas Country Security Report said violent crime generally does not occur in tourist areas and described gang-on-gang crime as the country’s primary security threat. The same OSAC report said The Bahamas recorded a 9 percent increase in homicides in 2024, with 120 homicides compared to 110 in 2023, but added that those homicides "did not target tourists" and mostly occurred as retaliation between people with links to crime. OSAC also said there had been an increase in crimes targeting tourists in 2022, but that this increase was not reflected in the 2024 statistics."It's not getting worse, but it's also not particularly well managed. The U.S. travel advisory explicitly states that it's only a summary update, with no changes to the risk level," Andreichuk said. "So unless you were already worried about safety when visiting the Bahamas over the past 10 years, I wouldn't start worrying now." Should Vacationers Actually Be Worried?For most travelers, the advisory should be seen more as a caution flag than a red light. The Bahamas remains at Level 2, the same level used for many destinations where Americans are advised to be more alert but are not told to avoid travel. "The risk is real but not materially different than it has been…We have plenty of travelers going to the Bahamas," Faye Travel Insurance VP of Claims Jeff Rolander told Newsweek.For most vacationers, the risk appears to be highly location or activity specific.OSAC said most murders and armed robberies have historically occurred in portions of New Providence that are "not areas generally frequented by tourists." However, some robberies involving U.S. victims have occurred in Nassau, including in areas tourists frequent.Travelers staying in major resorts who use licensed transportation and avoid isolated areas after dark have a different level of exposure than visitors staying in unsecured rentals.Generally, carrying large amounts of cash, using isolated ATMs or venturing into higher-risk neighborhoods is not advised.Vacationers should also pay close attention to warnings about boating, Jet Skis, beach safety, hurricanes and local firearms laws.The Data SideWhat Happens NextAmericans planning trips to the Bahamas should treat the new advisory as a reminder to join the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program and review their security advice from hotels and cruise lines.Generally, experts say vacationers should be cautious, not panicked. The trio were on a hike when the attack took place, with 911 audio and a chilling medical report revealing more about her gruesome final moments. The results were published by associate medical examiner Jenaye L Mack, who performed the post-mortem on Clark's body the next morning. As reported by The New York Post , Dr Mack stated that Clark's death was caused by “multiple blunt force injuries of the upper extremities,” and that the manner of death was an accident. The medical expert added that she had also suffered “near complete traumatic amputation of the left arm at the shoulder and near complete traumatic amputation of the right distal forearm”. Dr Mack horrifically found teeth marks on the left clavicle, left scapula, and ventral left arm. After the attacks, trappers killed an alligator found nearby, which was confirmed to be the one responsible for the deadly attack by Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officials. He explained: “We were smiling and talking and then it was complete chaos.” Describing his late partner as "bad a**," he said that she used her final words to ask him to look after her dog, who was with them on the hike. “While we were waiting for emergency services to arrive, Brittany just told me to make sure I took care of Hokie,” he heartbreakingly revealed. A medical expert spoke out about the gruesome discoveries she made after conducting autopsies of all four victims in the Idaho murders . The release of Netflix's The Idaho Murders: College Nightmare, has brought renewed interest to the gruesome killers, a year on from killer Bryan Kohberger's conviction. A number of revelations were made in a crime doc, such as one of the two survivors telling police about what they heard Kohberger say in the house. While his chilling words were enough to shoot fear down your spine, there's more information about the investigation that many aren't familiar with. The documentary explores Kohberger's murders of four University of Idaho students : Madison May Mogen, Kaylee Jade Goncalves, Xana Alexia Kernodle, and Ethan James Chapin in their home. Kohberger was sentenced to four life sentences, but he has recently threatened to withdraw the guilty plea that spared him from standing trial and the death penalty. But a year ago, a forensic pathologist was set to tell jurors that the victims "endured a high degree of pain and/or suffering prior to their deaths as a result of the injuries inflicted," during the trial. According to the newly unsealed discovery disclosure obtained by the publication, Singh determined the manner of death to be homicide in all four cases. She would have named Chapin specifically, finding that he "experienced a high degree of pain and/or suffering prior to his death as a result of the injuries inflicted but to a lesser degree than the other decedents." According to autopsy reports, Chapin, Mogen and Goncalves were killed as they were in bed, suffering fatal injuries before being able to stand up. Kernodle wasn't asleep during the attack, brutally battling Kohberger as she was stabbed 67 times, resulting in more injuries than the other victims. In fact, her autopsy report was four pages longer than the others due to the extent of medical trauma she suffered. But ultimately, the medical examiner did not need to provide testimony as Kohberger reached a deal with prosecutors, pleading guilty to four counts of murder to avoid the death penalty. Bryan Kohberger threatened to withdraw guilty plea Earlier this week, Kohberger filed a petition for post-conviction relief in Idaho's Ada County District Court, arguing that his conviction should now be overturned. Court records now show Kohberger is representing himself in the filing. According to documents obtained by NBC News, Kohberger claims his defense team provided "ineffective" legal representation and alleges he was "convinced to falsely confess" to murders he insists he did not commit. He further argued that he was led to believe whether he was actually guilty was irrelevant when deciding whether to accept the plea agreement. In the filing, Kohberger claimed he was "advised to lie" and told he would secure a "legal victory" by entering what he described as a "false plea". The claims mirror remarks Kohberger recently made during an interview with The New York Times, where he again maintained his innocence and argued he had been manipulated into pleading guilty. Court filings acknowledged that although Hearn participated in a demonstration near the pool, investigators could not establish beyond a reasonable doubt that he caused the alleged property damage cited in the criminal complaint.The case stemmed from a May protest in which demonstrators entered the Reflecting Pool and displayed political messages, including "86 47" on the surrounding lawn. The slogan has generated political controversy, with some Trump allies arguing it amounted to a threat against the president, while others have characterized it as protected political expression.Newsweek reached out to Pirro's office and Hearn's attorney for comment via email....Vandalism Accusations and Public StatementsTrump and his officials have repeatedly said that the Reflecting Pool had been vandalized. The president cited alleged cuts to the liner, chemicals poured into the water, and damage to the surrounding lawn as evidence of politically motivated attacks on the newly renovated landmark.In various public statements and social media posts, Trump referred to a "gash" roughly measured from 150 to 350 feet long, saying the damage had been deliberately inflicted and warning that those responsible could face up to 10 years in prison."We have 100- … I think 290-, 300-foot slit right through it. Probably a box cutter or a knife of some kind," the president told reporters in June. He also claimed that vandals "did something" to create the algae and posted on Truth Social that "chemicals have been illegally placed in the water."At a press conference last month, Pirro accused Hearn of "woefully" destroying federal property, describing the incident as a deliberate act of vandalism and alleging that he had "forcefully and violently" pulled up the newly installed liner at the bottom of the Reflecting Pool. She also said National Park Service employees witnessed Hearn damaging the liner and that the alleged destruction met the threshold for a felony charge.Weeks later, in a reversal from her earlier public statements, Pirro's own office moved to dismiss the case after prosecutors concluded newly obtained evidence showed the liner had been peeling because of installation issues, leaving the government unable to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Hearn caused the damage alleged in the criminal complaint....Pirro Moves to Dismiss Hearn's ChargesPirro filed a motion Friday to dismiss the felony destruction of government property charge against Hearn, citing newly developed evidence showing that the pool's liner had failed because of installation defects. Prosecutors said the evidence no longer supported the allegation that Hearn intentionally caused the damage.According to Friday's filing, the court concluded that the bottom of the Reflecting Pool had “[a]lmost immediately” begun peeling after the work was completed after the contractors, Atlantic Industrial Coatings (AIC), rushed to get the almost $14 million job finished before the July Fourth holiday.Pirro's motion also said that the Department of Interior had failed to "fully and accurately provide information to USAODC [United States Attorney's Office-District of Columbia] [which] undermined the government’s ability" to accurately assess the damage.“[I]t was not until after the return of the indictment, that the DOI provided additional documents to the USAO-DC indicating that damage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in June 2026 was the result of flawed installation by the contractor, Atlantic Industrial Coatings (‘AIC’), and the rush to complete the project prior to events associated with the America 250 celebration in the weeks surrounding Independence Day 2026,” the court filing said.“It was not until after these documents were produced that USAO-DC first became aware of information showing that the damage was the result of a botched installation and not vandalism as initially represented by DOI.”In a statement on X on Saturday, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum wrote that "the evidence is clear" and that "vandals have repeatedly caused damage to the Reflecting Pool.""Some of these acts were even caught on camera," the secretary continued. "We also provided the U.S. Attorney's office expert and eyewitness testimony to the damage done by vandals and provided every piece of evidence they asked for in the requested time line detailing each area of damage at the pool. The Reflecting Pool is part of the Lincoln Memorial and dates back to 1922. [Trump] cares deeply about protecting our sacred national monuments and his leadership has led the restoration of our Nation's Capital by Making D.C. Safe and Beautiful Again." Burgum concluded that the "intentional damage done to the Reflecting Pool is no different than defacing any one of our other national monuments. We won't back down to deranged people who want to destroy, deface, or degrade our monuments."Meanwhile, Hearn's legal team on Saturday criticized Trump and Pirro and said it was weighing "legal remedies” on behalf of their client.“Trump is mad at Pirro because she finally admitted what we made clear in our legal filings all along: Trump’s botched renovation was responsible for the damage — not Davey Hearn," the legal team said in a statement to the Associated Press. “However, her claim that she and her office were previously duped by Interior is nonsense.
