Some commenters appeared over the moon and convinced the footage was genuine, while others centered on Bieber's appearance, suggesting that he could capitalize on the attention by flogging sexy snaps of himself. One X user said: “Ok but if someone knew how to win me over like that, complaining wouldn’t even cross my mind.” Another added: “Ageing like fine wine and I’m thirsty.” However, to the dismay of beliebers everywhere, the video is allegedly fake. According to The Tab, multiple AI-content checkers examined the 12-second clip and came to the conclusion that it was artificially generated. If you look really closely, you can spot the person's facial features changing and morphing throughout the video, a common sign of AI manipulation. A note attached to one of the viral posts sharing the clip also reportedly clarified that the footage was AI-generated and did not depict the real singer. The video is made by AI. The face in the video changes shape several times, which is typical of AI-generated artefacts. Authentic recent posts of Bieber can be seen on his official Instagram.” The ' Baby ' singer has previously opened up about feeling “violated’ after private nude photographs of him were circulated online in 2015. The inappropriate pictures were also posted to Selena Gomez’s Instagram but later deleted. However, the latest incident appears to be different because the footage was allegedly never recorded in the first place. The incident highlights a growing problem for celebrities , who are increasingly being targeted by artificial intelligence-generated images and videos. While celebrity privacy scandals once centred largely on genuine photographs or videos being stolen and leaked online, AI technology has created a new threat in which fake material can be made to look harmfully convincing.
