Eleanor "Ellie" Moon, a finalist from Season 4 of the web-based reality show "Fishtank," has passed away at the age of 19. Her sister confirmed the news publicly, noting that the death occurred in May. The family requested privacy to mourn in peace and asked the public to let the matter rest rather than spreading internet rumors. Ellie's sister shared that the former contestant died by suicide, explaining that Ellie battled suicidal tendencies since childhood and likely suffered from an untreated mental health condition. The family explicitly denied online speculation suggesting that an overdose or illegal substances were involved in her death. Clarifying the role of the show The family emphasized that Ellie's participation in the reality series did not contribute to her actions. Her sister wanted to ensure that the production team did not receive blame for the tragedy, stating clearly that Ellie loved her time on the broadcast. She wrote, "Let me be clear, Jet, Fishtank, and the whole thing had nothing to do with her taking her life," to dispel outside assumptions. According to the family, Ellie looked forward to participating in the competition and considered her stay in the house one of the most significant moments of her life. The sister also expressed gratitude to the crew for the support they offered to the family during their grief. Eleanor Moon. As one of the youngest participants, she initially kept to herself but grew more assertive and talkative with her fellow contestants as the season progressed. She remained in the competition until the season came to an abrupt end on Day 18. The production concluded early on June 30, 2025, due to legal issues across three separate filming locations. Because of the sudden conclusion, all remaining finalists received an equal grand prize of $8,000. This loss marks the third public death of a former participant from the show, following the passing of Season 5 cast member SuzieSmalls on July 13. Featured image credit: Instagram
