A couple's awkward moment in the crowd of a World Cup game has gone viral in recent weeks, for one good reason. The World Cup is coming to an end this weekend after five weeks of action, which could be a downer for both soccer and non-soccer fans. Storylines have been easy to follow for anyone watching the games this summer , whether it be Bellingham and Haaland's bromance or Mbappe's French army marching to victory. But with the semi-finals on the horizon ahead of Sunday's final, it's also time to wave goodbye to random crowd moments like this one. A clip of a disgruntled couple arguing in the stands of a group stage match between South Africa and Korea Republic has resurfaced on social media and garnered millions of views. Despite the match happening around three weeks ago, viewers are shocked after they seemingly missed the heated moment. The South Africa supporters weren't having the best time. Credit: X What happened in the clip? Millions of social media followers have been trying to figure out what the unhappy couple was bickering about at the June game in Monterrey, Mexico. The fans can be seen draped out in team merchandise which features the South African flag, but things appear to turn sour pretty quickly. A woman could be seen getting irritated at a man believed to be her partner, glancing over at him as he is on his phone. She can then be seen getting more bothered by either what he is looking at, or the fact that he is on his phone while their country is competing at a World Cup for the first time in 16 years. After being confronted, the man appears dismissive and puts his phone away and while the couple try to talk it out, it seems like something tipped the man over the edge. Despite the woman trying to disengage from the situation and sit down, the man turns around and appears annoyed, telling her something in frustration. But despite the argument reaching no real ending or conclusion, the man keeps dancing and cheering Bafana Bafana on, as they emerged 1-0 victors and secured a spot in the round of 32. The woman on the other hand, looked disinterested after sitting down, with the man even feeding food to another woman standing next to him while the other remained seated. Some thought that the camera operator focused on the couple too much, but others started to theorize that he could've been messaging another woman, or simply putting bets on the game. One user pointed out: “The cameraman was so invested,” as a different user joked: “Must be the same Coldplay cameraman."
