His office pushed back ahead of Trump’s visit, accusing the president of prioritizing fundraising over wildfire recovery.“Donald Trump is coming to Los Angeles County to raise money while wildfire survivors are still waiting for the federal recovery funding he promised 18 months ago,” Newsom’s office said in a statement. “Californians deserve a president focused on helping families rebuild — not raising money for himself at his golf course.”In a post Monday night, Newsom’s office also sought to preempt expected criticism by arguing that crime is declining in California and that efforts to combat fraud are ongoing.Trump’s last official visit to California came in January 2025, when he toured areas devastated by the Palisades and Eaton wildfires.

Scott Eastwood's Furious Rant: Which Co-Star Left Him Hanging? New

Scott Eastwood's Furious Rant: Which Co-Star Left Him Hanging?

Scott Eastwood took aim at one of his co-stars after they dropped out of a film mid-production, with no warning. The Fury actor, 40, didn't hold back during a June episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast , explaining why he was so irked by one of his peers. When describing the mystery actor, he called them a "piece of s**t" after they dropped out of the production. Unfortunately for those who like to be clued into celebrity drama, he didn't reveal who it was. He explained that they "just left," with the actor adding: “It was their directorial, their story, their thing. And it was just like, bro, you took money from somebody.” Eastwood, who has previously opened up on the tragic loss of his girlfriend, is a fairly open book when it comes to Hollywood stars. Credit: Victor Boyko/Getty Images for Ralph Lauren Scott Eastwood explains beef with co-star The son of Clint Eastwood explained the situation to Rogan, recalling: “I just worked with somebody and, without saying any names, people get too famous for too long and think the world owes them something.” He went on: “They decided after we’d already spent a bunch of money that they just didn’t want to work with this other person and didn’t want to do the job, “I was like, ‘OK, then you need to pay that money back to the person who invested in you.’ They were like, ‘I’m not gonna do that.’” He said that the situation was “shocking” and “unbelievable,” adding, “It’s black and white. Do the right thing. Don’t be a piece of s**t. You can’t do that. “I’ve seen some behavior in this business that is shocking,” Eastwood stated. “That would not go in other industries, but for some reason because they’re stars, right?” Reflecting more on the entertainment industry, he said that it can be "really ugly" behind the scenes. The Regretting You star also admitted: “I love telling stories and when we’re doing a creative endeavor, and you move people, whether you’ll make them laugh, make them cry, whatever.” Scott opened up about his father The actor also opened up about his father, a Hollywood legend in his own right. He described the 96-year-old as “a put-your-boots-on, go-to-work man” who left his job “at the door.” He previously told Treats! magazine in March 2015 that his dad gave him some useful advice for his career, which was: “Whatever you do, do it well. Be humble, work hard and be a man.” Scott, who is one of seven children, claimed that his dad didn't care what industry they got into, as long as they worked hard. He explained: “I didn’t get in this to be famous, “I grew up loving my father’s work, loving movies and telling stories, wanting to be a part of that.” Featured image credit: Victor Boyko/Getty Images for Ralph Lauren

Coney Island's Stunning Surprise: The 500th Humpback Whale Emerges! New

Coney Island's Stunning Surprise: The 500th Humpback Whale Emerges!

He’s making a splash.A majestic humpback whale lunged and breached off the coast of Coney Island this past weekend — marking the 500th member of the special species to be recorded frolicking in the city’s waves since 2012.The whale — deemed a new sighting based on its distinctive fluke — put on a spectacular show for onlookers to celebrate the milestone, which experts say is a clear indicator that the Big Apple’s waters are growing cleaner and more stable for wildlife. The majestic 500th humpback whale recorded in New York City’s waters since 2012 breaches off Coney Island over the weekend. Jam Press/Chris St Lawrence/American Princess Cruises/Gotham Whale“It’s really inspiring and amazing that New York City is offering these animals — that are finding challenging situations elsewhere — a place to thrive, that New York City, a place where we’ve associated with not very clean water and not with a vibrant ecosystem, is becoming a lifeline for 500 humpback whales that have been passing through our waters over the last decade or so,” said Chris St. Lawrence of the advocacy group Gotham Whale to The Post.Whales are identified by their tails, and the unique scarring on the fluke of the weekend mammal, dubbed “NYC0500,” allowed the activists to add it to the New York City Humpback Whale Catalog as lucky No. 500.The estimated 1-year-old humpback was first spotted frolicking around the Sail 4th 250 festivities in Sandy Hook, NJ, but it wasn’t until July 28 that researchers got a clear glimpse of its rear tail and confirmed it was a new visitor. And the news gets better — the juvenile whale appears to be healthy, thriving and hungry.“We saw a small whale that was really intent on feeding. It was spending a lot of time below the surface, for the most part. But then we also saw some of those lunge feeds where it comes up out of the water,” St. Lawrence said.“These animals are here to put on weight, especially those juveniles. They’re looking to get as much food as possible to grow as quickly as possible, to put on those fat layers so that if they want to, they can migrate back down south for the winter.”The whales are identified by their distinctive flukes, or tails. Jam Press/Chris St Lawrence/American Princess Cruises/Gotham WhaleNYC0500’s entry into the catalog is a sign that humpback whale populations have become a major part of the city’s marine ecosystem. The NYCHWC has been recording as many as 100 new whales in the New York Harbor and surrounding waterways since 2018 — a significant surge from the 10 to 30 that were recorded annually when it was created in 2012.It’s also an indicator that Big Apple waters are growing increasingly cleaner, inviting bunker fish and other smaller fish to swim in the waves.Warming oceans also mean that the city’s waterways are becoming more hospitable for the massive creatures. The juvenile whale spotted over the weekend is likely around 1 year old. Jam Press/Chris St Lawrence/American Princess Cruises/Gotham WhaleAs many as 100 whales visit the Big Apple annually. Jam Press/Chris St Lawrence/American Princess Cruises/Gotham WhaleHumpbacks aren’t the only whales that have been making the Big Apple home — endangered North Right Whales have been spotted swimming through the Port of New York and New Jersey in the past year.A pod of fin whales also soared near Brooklyn in June, inspiring Gotham Whale to start its second species catalog dedicated to the massive cetacean. But the increase in marine life could mean higher instances of ship collisions, researchers warned, urging boaters to reduce their speeds and keep clear of them. The New York legislature unanimously passed the Whale Awareness Act, which directs New York agencies to develop marine mammal interaction prevention recommendations — a pending law still awaiting final action by Gov. Kathy Hochul.

Could This Common Supplement Be the Key to Fighting Cancer? New

Could This Common Supplement Be the Key to Fighting Cancer?

A common amino acid found in protein-rich foods and over-the-counter supplements may play a far bigger role in fighting cancer and viral infections than previously understood, according to new research from Rockefeller University. The study found that low levels of arginine can prevent cells from producing a protein the immune system relies on to detect cancer and viruses, allowing threats to slip past.Sohail Tavazoie, who leads Rockefeller University's Elizabeth and Vincent Meyer Laboratory of Systems Cancer Biology, told Newsweek that arginine levels are already known to be low in cancers, and that viruses reduce arginine levels in the tissues they infect. He said arginine also naturally declines in the body with age."We have found that these reduced arginine levels reduce the ability of our cells to produce a key protein called MHC-1, which 'presents' abnormal proteins in our cells, such as those from viruses or mutated proteins in cancer cells, to our immune system, so they can be detected and eradicated," Tavazoie said.He said that supplementing arginine in the diet helped counter the deficiency caused by cancer or viruses, reducing the severity of flu and COVID-19 in the research. Notably, arginine improved influenza outcomes in mice even when given 24 hours after infection. The amount used was equivalent to roughly 10 grams of arginine per day, or about the amount in a couple of standard over-the-counter tablets. How Arginine Affects ImmunityArginine is an amino acid that helps cells build proteins carrying out a wide range of biological functions. The body produces it naturally, and it is also found in many protein-rich foods. Abnormally low arginine levels have previously been linked to several diseases, including colon cancer....Building on earlier work showing that arginine deprivation causes colon cancer cells to accumulate more mutations, Tavazoie's team examined whether shifting arginine levels could alter gene expression, a connection that had not been well understood.Researchers studied several disease models, including colon cancer, influenza and SARS-CoV-2, in cell cultures and identified 414 proteins present at unusually low levels when arginine was scarce. Most matched arginine's already known functions, but three genes responsible for producing MHC-1 stood out.MHC-1 proteins sit on the surface of cells throughout the body, displaying foreign or abnormal proteins to T cells, which then rally other immune cells to respond. Because MHC-1 requires many arginine building blocks to assemble, the researchers found that when arginine ran short, the ribosomes producing it stalled and could not finish the protein, leaving cells with fewer warning signals to alert the immune system.Diet's Role in Disease RiskIn mice, diets rich in arginine led to fewer colon tumors and milder viral infections, while low-arginine diets worsened outcomes for flu, COVID-19 and tumor growth. The findings, published in Cell, suggest dietary arginine deficiency could contribute to worse outcomes in these conditions, though clinical trials and further studies are needed.Tavazoie said the age-related decline in arginine "could also partially explain the age associated risk of developing colon cancer," as well as increased flu and COVID-19 severity in older adults. His team is now interested in testing whether arginine supplementation could improve outcomes for flu patients at high risk of severe illness.ReferenceTavazoie, S. F., et al. (2026). Dietary arginine drives codon-dependent MHC class I translation and improves immunity in colon tumorigenesis and respiratory viral infection. House of the Dragon Stuns Fans with Shocking Incest Scene New

House of the Dragon Stuns Fans with Shocking Incest Scene

While fans of HBO hit show House of the Dragon are no strangers to on-screen incest, many of them took to social media to express their disgust at what happened in the latest episode, with many of them arguing that the show's producers “took it too far”. For anyone less well-versed in incest than HOTD fans, it is a fantasy drama in which the two rival heirs to the throne are married to their uncle and sister respectively, and are trying to succeed their father, whose parents were siblings. There are so many familial flirtations and relationships in the show that by the time we listed them all, the hype around the franchise would be forgotten entirely. Aemond dreams about having sex with his mother. Credit: HBO Mother and son sex scenes are a regular occurrence in HOTD Despite that, viewers were shocked last season when protagonist Daemon Targaryen, played by British heartthrob Matt Smith, had a rather graphic sex dream about his own mother, Alyssa Targaryen, played by Emeline Lambert. Clearly ignoring the well-reported horrified reaction, the show’s writers have done it again and taken it even further this season. In episode seven of season three, Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) had a dream sequence in which he imagined himself having sex with his own mother, Alicent (Olivia Cooke). He quickly realises he is fantasizing and is actually having sex with another character, Alys Rivers (Gayle Rankin), and swiftly loses his libido and pushes her off. However, disturbingly, this was not the first time that Aemond has expressed an inappropriate love for his mom. In the first episode of the latest season, he has a tense private conversation with Alicent. During the interaction, Aemond misreads her maternal reassurance and affection, leans in, and kisses her on the lips. Alicent is visibly shocked and uncomfortable, making it clear that she does not see the interaction in the same way. Aemond misread signals from his mother Alicent. Credit: HBO Even hardcore fans were shocked by the graphic scene Unsurprisingly, viewers flocked to social media to share their disgust at the inappropriate incest scene. One X user said: “The writers are steering too far away from the books. Aemond dreaming of having s*x with Alicent was totally unnecessary and disgusting.” In agreement, another fan wrote: "You think House of the Dragon has pushed the limit of incest it can show on TV and then it just gets worse every episode.” However, no matter how uncomfortable it is to watch at home, you have to sympathize with the actors who have to make the incestuous scenes come to life. In a recent interview with Variety , Rankin opened up about how the cast coped. She said: "It was very intimate and very odd but very professional. "We tried to like make jokes, just to keep it light-hearted because those scenes are not easy and they’re complicated and very technical. So it was also just like it was another day at the office for being like a very odd, f**ked-up scene." Featured image credit: HBO

Keke Palmer Takes the Spotlight: What Big Change Is Coming to 'The Voice'? New

Keke Palmer Takes the Spotlight: What Big Change Is Coming to 'The Voice'?

Keke Palmer is following in Carson Daly's footsteps for a new edition of The Voice. NBC officially announced The Voice: Celebrity on Tuesday, August 4, with Palmer, 32, hosting the latest addition to the fan-favorite franchise. Daly, 53, will serve as a producer. Joe Jonas will make his debut as a coach on the singing competition alongside Queen Latifah and Riley Green, who will also appear on season 30 of The Voice this fall. Like the original series fans have come to know and love, The Voice: Celebrity will search for undiscovered talent — this time from actors, musicians, influencers, athletes, comedians and reality stars — to crown one champion at the end of the competition. The new series marks an unprecedented first as Daly has hosted The Voice for all 30 seasons over the last 15 years. The NBC hit kicks off its milestone 30th season on Monday, September 30, where Daly will emcee alongside returning coaches Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson, as well as newcomers Latifah andGreen. After 28 seasons as host, Daly was given a special “Carson Callback Card” to give one artist who didn’t receive any chair turns in the Blind Auctions a redo. He bestowed the honor on rocker Ryan Mitchell, who ultimately made it on Team Reba McEntire. (Aiden Ross from Niall Horan’s team, however, won the trophy.) “We started a new twist,” the former TRL personality said on the Today show in September 2025. “I had the ability to give one of our artists a second chance. This season … there was a young man who caught my eye when he went out there. [He] was so close to getting a chair turn, [but] nothing happened; he didn’t make it. I still knew Ryan Mitchell deserved the first-ever ‘Carson Callback Card.’” In addition to The Voice, Daly also coanchors Today and hosts his own radio show. “The Voice is an anomaly. I mean, that’s great, but you can’t live your life in this business buying into that,” he told Vulture in 2012 of staying busy amid the singing show’s success. “I hope The Voice has a fifteen-year run, don’t get me wrong, but I come from nothing, and maybe it’s the Irish in me, but my attitude is always like, ‘They’ll figure me out soon. Always assume the worst, and hope for the best.’ That’s like my living motto.” Daly noted at the time that he had pitched NBC “a bunch” of other gig ideas amid popularity of his late-night show, Last Call With Carson Daly, which was eventually canceled in 2019 after 17 seasons. “It’s really great because it feels like I get to yin and yang it. Selfishly, it’s job security,” he quipped to the outlet of working on both programs. “Getting back to that, I keep it simple: I don’t drink the Kool-aid, and I’m going to stay working. It’s the best of both worlds because I think when The Voice took off, a lot of the people on my late-night show thought, ‘Oh, boy. There goes Carson.’ One of the things I was quick to reassure everyone in late-night was to remind them of my loyalty.” He continued at the time, “[The Voice has] enabled me to breathe life back into the late-night show, and in return, they asked me to do the Golden Globes preshow, which is another show I probably wouldn’t normally do. I mean, I’m not a big fan of the red carpet.” Palmer, meanwhile, has plenty of hosting experience herself, having joined the NBC reboot of Password in 2022. She won the 2024 Emmy for Outstanding Host for a Game Show, becoming the first Black woman — and the first woman in 15 years — to take home the honor. Palmer also hosts her own podcast, “Baby, This is Keke Palmer.”

Tragic Discovery: Toddler Found Near Home, Community Left in Shock

A Texas community has been left devastated after a two-year-old girl who disappeared from her neighborhood was found dead in a nearby creek just a few hundred yards from her home. Aryana Trevino Martinez went missing from her San Antonio neighborhood at around 8PM on Sunday, prompting authorities to issue an amber alert. Investigators probe into death Aryana Trevino Martinez was found dead after going missing, it has been confirmed. Credit: San Antonio Police Department The alert was later canceled after the toddler's body was discovered, according to local reports. Officials have not, as yet, confirmed Martinez's cause of death, and investigators are continuing to examine how the two-year-old managed to leave her home. The heartbreaking discovery was made by 22-year-old Uriel Ramirez, who joined the search after the Amber Alert was issued. His mother, Anna Marie Ramirez, told KSAT that the family immediately wanted to help. "We need to be a part of this and help," she claimed. Anna Marie explained that the search was almost impossible because of the tall grass surrounding the creek, but her son continued looking. According to his mother, Uriel climbed onto nearby rocks before spotting the toddler in the water. "As soon as he looked he said he saw her body and just jumped in without hesitating and carried her and brought her to everyone," Anna Marie said through tears. Police received the missing persons report shortly after the child disappeared, and Martinez's body was found around midnight — roughly four hours later. Recalling the moment, Uriel said: "I can't even put it into words." He added: "She's like an angel and something led me straight to her, like a direct shot. "My brain was just – that's where she is." After recovering the little girl's body, he simply told his mother: "I found her." According to the Amber Alert, Martinez was last seen at approximately 7:45PM wearing a black top and leopard-print trousers. Investigators say surveillance footage appears to show the toddler walking toward the creek before she was found. Neighbors heartbreaking words following devastating death Authorities have not said how she came to leave the house, and the circumstances surrounding her death remain under investigation. The case has left neighbors struggling to understand what happened. "The first thing I thought, like everybody else, how did she get out there?" local resident David Alcantar told WOAI. "How's a two-year-old get out that way?" A vigil in memory of Aryana Trevino Martinez is scheduled to take place at 8PM on Tuesday as family, friends and members of the community come together to remember the young girl. Featured Image. Why a Canadian's Shocking Attack on a Teen Is Making Headlines

The lefty Canadian illegal immigrant who attacked a teen in patriotic clothing on a New Jersey boardwalk is getting the boot back to Canuck.A Texas immigration judge ordered Kaitlyn Tracey to be deported back to her home country Tuesday – before the teen slapper entered a guilty plea on assault charges stemming from the ugly, Fourth of July weekend brawl at the Point Pleasant boardwalk.Tracey, 33 – who attended a criminal court hearing in Toms River over the phone from a Texas ICE lockup – only copped to one count of simple assault, a misdemeanor, as part of a cushy plea deal.Kaitlyn Tracey, 33, is seen slapping a teen on July 3, 2026, at the Point Pleasant Beach boardwalk in New Jersey. Mitch McConnell's Mysterious Absence: What’s Happening Behind Closed Doors? New

Mitch McConnell's Mysterious Absence: What’s Happening Behind Closed Doors?

Republican Senator Mitch McConnell’s lengthy absence from public life has placed pressure on his GOP colleagues as well as his staffers, who are being pressed to provide details about the whereabouts of one of Congress’ longest-serving and most influential members. The Kentucky Republican has not been seen publicly for weeks and has missed all 47 roll call votes in the Senate since June 11, according to GovTrack.us, though he has continued to cosponsor legislation remotely. A pair of photos of the 84-year-old as well as statements supposedly penned by the senator—explaining that his absence was the result of a fall and a case of pneumonia—have been released by his office in recent weeks, but these have done little to quell speculation about his condition or criticism about the lack of transparency.Kentucky’s Democratic Governor Andy Beshear has repeatedly pushed for information on the senator’s well-being from his office, and last week told Bloomberg that it was up to his staff to "step up and to be honest and transparent." Members of McConnell's team, however, have routinely declined to provide concrete answers in response to questions about him, which has now led to scrutiny of their finances and the salaries being drawn during their boss’ absence.Newsweek contacted McConnell’s office, as well as the staffers identified in this article, whose contact details were publicly available, for comment on Tuesday morning....Who Are Mitch McConnell’s Staff?According to disclosures posted on LegiStorm, McConnell’s current Senate salary is $193,400, though he oversees a Congressional budget that funds a far larger payroll for dozens of staff.Taken together, McConnell’s staffers took home just under $4 million between April 1, 2025 and March 31, 2026—the most recent 12-month period for which figures were available—and many of his top employees enjoy salaries above the senator’s own official earnings. Below are the six highest paid staffers employed by McConnell, whose annual salaries have been calculated by doubling their reported pay for the most recent six-month period disclosed on LegiStorm.Terry Carmack, Chief of StaffSalary: $226,850Carmack is one of McConnell’s longest serving and closest political aides. According to an article penned for Politico in 2015, Carmack’s first job on Capitol Hill was with McConnell in 1985, and he has held a number of positions for the senator over their decades-long professional relationship.Carmack refused to provide any information regarding McConnell’s condition when questioned by the independent journalist Nicholas Ballasy.Melissa Schultz Bennett, Operations DirectorSalary: $226,850Bennett has served in McConnell's office since 2023, having previously worked as Deputy Chief of Staff to Senator Rob Portman, a Republican from Ohio, and as President George W. Bush’s assistant handling appointments and scheduling.Robert Steurer, Senior Communications AdviserSalary: $226,850Steurer has served on McConnell’s team in a communications capacity for over two decades. Like McConnell’s other staff, Steurer has stonewalled journalists when pressed for details on his boss’ condition.Robbin Taylor, State DirectorSalary: $226,850According to her LinkedIn profile, Taylor has served as McConnell’s state director—covering operations in his home state of Kentucky—since 2021, having previously served as his "South Central Kentucky Field Representative" between 1991 and 2000.Prior to her latest stint with his office, Taylor worked in government relations with the firm McCarthy Strategic Solutions, and held a number of positions at Western Kentucky University.Stephanie Penn, Communications DirectorSalary: $214,000Penn began working for McConnell after graduating from the University of Louisville in 2009, according to LegiStorm, becoming the senator’s press secretary in 2015 before her promotion to communications director in October of 2025.Penn has been at the center of much of the criticism being directed at McConnell’s office. She has been filmed on separate occasions declining to answer questions about the senator’s absence, and failing to address concerns over the fact his staff continue to draw salaries while McConnell’s Kentucky constituents are effectively without representation.Elmamoun (Moon) Yousif Sulfab, Systems AdministratorSalary: $143,000Sulfab began working for McConnell in 2007, according to a 2023 profile in The Hill, and was included in the outlet’s list of "notable staffers" for that year.In addition to serving as McConnell’s chief IT manager, Sulfab is also a Ph.D. candidate in Planning, Governance, and Globalization at Virginia Tech’s School of Public and International Affairs.Pressure Mounts on Staff for TransparencyMcConnell has suffered a number of falls and health scares in recent years. According to a statement released by his office on July 12, the senator said his extended absence from Congress was because of a fall and a "mild case of pneumonia.""My doctors have confirmed that I didn’t break any bones or suffer a concussion. I didn’t have a heart attack or a stroke. I don’t have any tumors or hemorrhages. But I was briefly unconscious and was taken to the hospital," the statement read. His office provided a further update in late July, including a picture of the senator dated Sunday, July 26, alongside a statement from his doctor."Since his discharge from hospital care, he has maintained a strenuous course of physical therapy and rehabilitation, including multiple sessions a day designed to rebuild strength and reduce the risk of future falls," the statement read. John Goodman's Shocking Transformation: Unrecognizable After Weight Loss

John Goodman has stunned fans with his astonishing physical transformation after losing around 200 pounds, with the Hollywood veteran looking almost unrecognizable at the age of 74. The award-winning actor, who has starred in countless films, such as The Big Lebowski and Argo, as well as a long list of smash television shows throughout his career, has spent more than a decade working towards a healthier lifestyle. A key feature of Goodman’s larger-than-life acting charm, his portly exterior frequently lent themselves to the characters he would so often portray, from Walter in The Big Lebowski, to even assuming the role of the animated Sulley in Monsters Inc, a giant purple monster. “It takes a lot of creative energy to sit on your a** and figure out what you’re going to eat next,” he said in an interview with People in 2010. “I wanted to live life better.” “I just got tired, sick and tired of looking at myself. You’re shaving in the mirror and you don’t want to look at yourself. It gets dangerous,” he told ABC in 2016. How did the actor achieve his new look? John Goodman looks dramatically different. Rather than relying on a quick fix, Goodman has consistently spoken about taking a sustainable approach to weight loss, gradually changing his habits over the years. Goodman also explained that his weight loss journey was made easier after he “just stopped eating all the time”. “I’d have a handful of food and it’d go to my mouth,” he added. “In the old days, I would take three months out, lose 60 or 70 pounds, and then reward myself with a six-pack of Bud or whatever and just go back to my old habits. “Then this time I wanted to do it slowly, move, exercise. I’m getting to the age where I can’t afford to sit still anymore. And it gives me the energy to work, ‘cause work is very draining.” Now aged 74, Goodman continues to demonstrate that considerable lifestyle changes can be achieved later in life through long-term consistency. Why Princess Eugenie's New Baby is Causing a Stir New

Why Princess Eugenie's New Baby is Causing a Stir

Princess Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank, are officially outnumbered following the birth of their third baby. " Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr Jack Brooksbank are delighted to announce the safe arrival of their daughter, born on Monday, 3rd August 2026, at 6.20pm, at a hospital in Lisbon, Portugal," the official Royal Family Instagram account wrote on Tuesday, August 4. "The baby was born weighing 6 pounds 9 ounces." Alongside the announcement, the account shared an image of the newborn lying on her stomach. The image was credited to Brooksbank. "Their Majesties The King and Queen and other members of The Royal Family were delighted to be informed of the news," the caption concluded. Eugenie and Jack — who tied the knot in October 2018 — previously welcomed sons August and Ernest in February 2021 and May 2023, respectively. Buckingham Palace revealed in May that Eugenie was pregnant and expecting the couple’s third baby. “Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are very pleased to announce that they are expecting their third child together, due this summer,” the palace said in a statement to Us Weekly at the time. “August (aged 5) and Ernest (aged 2) are also very excited to have another sibling join the family.” The statement added that Eugenie’s uncle King Charles III was “delighted with the news.” That same day, Eugenie confirmed her pregnancy via Instagram, captioning a photo of August and Ernest looking at an ultrasound image, “Baby Brooksbank due 2026! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️.” Eugenie’s baby news came amid a time of turmoil for her father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor. The former prince was stripped of his royal title in October 2025 due to his connection to late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Then, in February, Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. As Andrew’s controversy made headlines, Eugenie and her older sister, Princess Beatrice, stepped back from the public eye while the family weathered the scandal. “Eugenie and Beatrice have had to change their upcoming public-facing plans and future plans this year,” a source exclusively told Us in March. “They aren’t as worried about Andrew being arrested and going to jail, but they are still horrified that he’s involved in this and worry there could be more to come.” While the family — including Eugenie and Beatrice’s mother, Sarah Ferguson, who was allegedly also friends with Epstein — remained tight-lipped about Andrew’s alleged misdeeds, the insider added, “It’s devastating for [the princesses] and in London it’s all people are talking about.” According to a second source, Eugenie and Beatrice were “not actually planning on doing any public events in the near future because of everything surrounding their parents because they know that will be the focus.” The second insider also denied claims that the royal family shunned Eugenie and Beatrice amid the scandal. “The royal family has not distanced themselves from the girls. [Prince] William and [Princess] Kate [Middleton] are close with them,” the source said. “They have been through enough. They are not being blamed. There is a lot of compassion. They are not pariahs. They are cared for and loved under the circumstances which are incredibly painful.” The royals “have compassion” for Eugenie and Beatrice’s difficult situation, per the second insider. “The royal family’s feelings have not changed. They love the girls,” the source continued. “The only feelings that have changed are toward Andrew and Fergie. They don’t hold Beatrice and Eugenie accountable. They are victims. … They have had strong royal connections and are still getting support from them.”
