Mount Pelée's Unsettling Signs: Are We on the Brink of Another Catastrophe? New

Mount Pelée's Unsettling Signs: Are We on the Brink of Another Catastrophe?

A Caribbean volcano responsible for one of the deadliest eruptions in history has shown a spike in seismic activity, sparking concerns that it could potentially blow again.Situated on the Caribbean Island of Martinique, Mount Pelée erupted on May 7, 1902, sending a flow of hot gas, ash, and rocks through the nearby hub of Saint-Pierre, killing nearly 30,000 people in a single afternoon. This made it the third deadliest volcanic eruption of the 20th century. Getty ImagesWere Mount Pelée to erupt today, the resultant pyroclastic flows could reportedly put the 400,000 people who live on Martinique at risk while ashfalls could disrupt electricity and ground flights, per a 2021 study. While the volcano has been dormant since 1932, it showed signs of unrest with experts detecting 124 earthquakes between July 24 and July 31 — nearly three times the number picked up the week prior, per the Martinique Volcanological and Seismological Observatory. They reportedly recorded 331 volcanic earthquakes during the entire month, breaking down to roughly 85 per week. The trend harks back to 2019, when the Caribbean volcano’s number of earthquakes jumped dramatically above the baseline of 19 per month and exceeded it for several months.A ruined cathedral is seen in St. Pierre after the Mount Pelée eruption. Bettmann ArchiveVolcanic earthquakes occur due to rock masses fracturing beneath a volcano due to stressors such as rising magma or hydrothermal fluids, according to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Institute. Although the earthquakes — none of which had a magnitude higher than 1 and weren’t felt by the population — don’t necessarily signal an imminent eruption.Meanwhile, since May, scientists have recorded several inches of ground movement per month at Mount Pelée’s summit, per the Martinique observatory.Experts have attributed these subterranean shifts to a deformation located approximately 0.6 miles below the summit that is causing it to inflate from within. Thankfully, the number has slowed slightly over the past four weeks, hopefully signaling that the pressure is easing. While these seismic overtures aren’t symptoms of a pending volcanic event, experts warn that we can’t breathe easy just yet.“The probability of eruptive activity in the short term remains low,” the Martinique Observatory declared. “However, considering the observations accumulated over the past months and years, an evolution of the situation in the medium term (weeks to months) cannot be excluded. They’ve currently toggled the alert level to “YELLOW,” signaling the need for vigilance.

Florence Pugh Reveals Shocking Truth Behind Early Career Sex Scenes New

Florence Pugh Reveals Shocking Truth Behind Early Career Sex Scenes

Florence Pugh has opened up about some of the intimate scenes that she took part in during the early stages of her career. The British actress has starred in some of the biggest films of the past few years, including the likes of Oppenheimer and Dune: Part Two. Now 30, it's fair to say that the actor behind Marvel's Yelena Belova is experienced, with more than a decade of work under her belt. Pugh sat down with Louis Theroux on his podcast to speak about what she had experienced so far in her acting career. She revealed that while she has featured in several sex scenes over the years, some were "completely inappropriate," upon reflection. Florence Pugh admitted that she had to turn certain sex scenes down. Credit: Marleen Moise / Getty Florence Pugh's admission about sex scenes Reflecting on her past experiences , Pugh said that there were times that directors crossed lines, though she has always been able to voice her boundaries. Speaking to Theroux, she admitted: “I did a lot of my sex scenes before that was even a job,” much to his surprise. "I'm quite confident, I'm quite happy in my skin, and I've always been able to make sure that I'm heard," she explained. "That being said, even though I know that I felt that at the time, there are plenty of things that I remember where it was just completely inappropriate to have asked me to do that, to have directed me in that way." She did praise the introduction of intimacy coordinators into the entertainment industry too, adding: "My view is changing about it as well because I'm now having fantastic experiences with intimacy coordinators." Florence Pugh admitted that she is comfortable in her own skin on camera. Credit: Sony T he importance of intimacy coordinators Intimacy coordinators were introduced to the industry around 2018, and became more prominent following the #MeToo movement. These professionals help ensure actors' safety and comfort during intimate scenes. Pugh praised skilled coordinators who enhance the portrayal of intimacy, but she also recounted working with one who made her feel uncomfortable and awkward. “I’ve also had a s**t example where someone just made it so weird and so awkward and really wasn’t helpful and kind of was just like wanting to be a part of the set in a way that wasn't helpful, and I think it's a job that's still figuring itself out,” she explained. Overall, she thinks it is a positive change, as they can add some background on the emotional and narrative context of a scene. “I was like, oh, this is what I’ve been missing, understanding the dance of intimacy as opposed to just shooting a sex scene,” Pugh added. She said that this has led to a better understanding of the characters and the relevant scene. Featured image credit: Marleen Moise / Getty

Modern Dating Horrors: The Unseen Toll on Young Singles New

Modern Dating Horrors: The Unseen Toll on Young Singles

On a warm Thursday night in July, hundreds of New Yorkers — most of them single women — gathered at Littlefield in Gowanus to trauma bond over the horrors of modern dating. They came to attend About Last Night, a nationwide event started in 2016 where people get up on stage to tell tales of terrible dates and lament the misery of looking for love. The event aims to help singles feel less alone, but the stories of diaper fetishes and perverted coworkers actually showed just how much bad behavior singles — especially women — are letting their partners get away with.Attendees at About Last Night in Brooklyn were disproportionately young and female. Emmy Park for NY PostOne woman, Jesse, recounted having her first one night stand in New York City at age 22. The older man she was hooking up with got up, sat on his standing desk, and rode it up and down naked as she watched, baffled.Another young woman, CJ, recalled hooking up during lockdown with a “Japanese cocaine dealing skater boy with a lisp,” only to realize that she was actually in love with another member of her 28-person cooperative housing living set up. After leaving his apartment high on cocaine, she spontaneously joined a nearby Black Lives Matter protest, where police tear-gassed her.A guy named Jared recalled going on a date with a woman who admitted she was in a 24/7 dominant-submissive kink relationship with an older man who had been reading all of their texts and controlling whether or not she could see Jared or be intimate with him.Sarah Inkateshta, Erica Rose and Nicole Brian, who are all 21, said their generation struggles with dating and commitment. Emmy Park for NY PostThere were also quite a few appeals to bathroom humor.Frankie recalled a budding romance with a coworker who admitted on their second date that he was sexually aroused by women farting.Julia Small and Anna Helms agreed that women are more able to laugh at the absurdity of modern dating. Emmy Park for NY PostChase James, the Los Angeles-based founder of About Last Night, said the event was inspired by his friend group’s ritual of sharing their own terrible experiences from the night before over breakfast. He started the series in San Francisco a decade ago and has since expanded to Chicago, New York, Denver and Seattle. Soon, they will host events in Austin and DC, too.“It was just this really special feeling of trust and camaraderie, and I was wondering how I could bring that on a grander scale,” he told The Post. “For a moment in time, it’s not the worst thing anymore. It’s kind of the best, because we’re all laughing about it together.”Frankie Benz went on a date with a co-worker, only to find out he had a fetish for women passing gas. Emmy Park for NY PostTo my ears, though, the stories all seemed to be oriented towards one conclusion: young people are treating one another like disposable sexual objects, and often ignoring their own values to keep up with a fast-paced dating scene.I found myself asking, Why did you end up in bed with a man you promised yourself you wouldn’t hook up with? Why did you let your co-worker continue to send you porn for days before speaking up?About Last Night founder Chase James said singles laughing at their own misery can make looking for love more tolerable. Emmy Park for NY PostWe talk so much about how horrific modern dating is — and rightfully so — but it’s only being made worse by our collective relinquishment of agency. The final speaker, a New Yorker named Daisy, told the audience about a time when, after a handful of dates with a man she was interested in, she violated her own boundaries and allowed herself to be talked into sex before commitment. She’d mustered up the courage to tell the man, “I really, really like you. I would love to maybe not have this be casual. I would love to maybe get in a relationship, what do you think?”Jessie Lee told a story about an older hookup partner who rode up and down on his standing desk while naked. Emmy Park for NY PostShe was “devastated” when he rejected her proposition, but stifled her disappointment — and went along with casual sex hoping to gain his affection.“I was like, yes, of course this 25-year-old man is saying I’m ready, so I must be ready . . . [and] I kept telling myself, ‘This is what it means to be 20,’ ” she said on stage.Daisy Friedman talked herself into a hookup, only to find herself bleeding out and in emergency surgery as a result. Emmy Park for NY PostThe story crescendoed when Daisy, who received a triple organ transplant as a child, starts bleeding profusely during sex and needs to go to the hospital — only to be left by her hookup partner in the waiting room. She had to head into emergency surgery all alone. It’s a dramatic ending, but with a relatable conclusion. “It made me realize how much we push ourselves to do things we think we should based on societal standards,” she told the crowdIf there’s any one takeaway from the messiness of About Last Night, it’s that: so much of the horror of modern dating is the result of us, as women, talking ourselves into participating in a system that doesn’t serve our own interests. We give in to avoid conflict, have casual sex when we don’t really want to and accept terrible behavior because “dating sucks.”We can keep complaining about it . . . or we can start demanding better.

Gracie's Chilling Realization Before Tragedy Struck New

Gracie's Chilling Realization Before Tragedy Struck

Disturbing new details have emerged in the deaths of four children in upstate New York, with investigators revealing that one of the victims appeared to realize she and her siblings were being poisoned shortly before they were all killed. Ten-year-old Gracelynn "Gracie" Harmon, her twin brother Gavin, 10, Hudson, 11, and Harper, 13, were found dead inside the Mechanicville apartment of their grandmother, Amy Steadman, in June. Disturbing final words of young girl poisoned by mother and grandma A mother and her four children are believed to have been poisoned by their grandmother. Credit: Sarah Myers/Facebook Their mother, 44-year-old Sarah Myers, and 64-year-old Steadman were also found dead. Police believe the two women killed the children before taking their own lives. During a press conference on Tuesday, Mechanicville Police Chief William Rabbitt said Gavin died from "multiple sharp force injuries," while his three siblings showed signs they had been poisoned. Investigators say messages recovered during the investigation indicate Gracie became aware something was wrong. According to Chief Rabbitt, the 10-year-old confronted her mother and grandmother, writing: "Why would you do that? You both won't let me puke," as she complained about worsening stomach pain. Police said that later the same evening, Steadman messaged her daughter, saying: "Gracie is aware," before the pair allegedly continued discussing their plan. Authorities recovered electronic evidence, including text messages between Myers and Steadman, which investigators say outlined how they intended to obtain medication and kill the children in order to "protect them." Chief Rabbitt said investigators believe the motive was to prevent the children's father, Brady Harmon, from gaining custody of them. Myers had accused Brady of domestic violence, allegations he has denied. He has not been charged with any offence. According to investigators, Myers had hoped the children would be dead before a scheduled 6PM phone call with Brady on June 10. However, after a combination of prescription and over-the-counter medication allegedly failed to kill them, police say she texted her mother: "We need another option." Detectives also examined Myers' internet search history, which Chief Rabbitt said included "searches about medication reactions, the effects of insulin on non-diabetics and the Utah court system." He added that investigators also found searches including: "Where is the most fatal place to be stabbed." Police further revealed that Gavin suffered a defensive wound during the attack, which Rabbitt said indicated "that he attempted to protect himself during the attack." The final text exchange between Myers and Steadman reportedly took place at around 8:40 PM on June 10. About an hour later, surveillance footage captured Steadman visiting a nearby gas station before returning to the apartment. The bodies were not discovered until nearly two weeks later after a neighbor requested a third welfare check, having not seen the family for 13 days. Chief Rabbitt said officers did not enter the apartment during the first two welfare checks. By the time the family was found, the bodies had decomposed to such an extent that identifying the victims proved difficult. The investigation remains ongoing, with toxicology testing still pending. Authorities have indicated the results may never be released publicly because they fear disclosing specific details could encourage copycat crimes. Chief Rabbitt strongly rejected the suspects' apparent justification for the killings. "Amy Steadman and Sarah Myers consistently portrayed these murders as a way of protecting the children," he said. "Whatever they believed justified their actions, the deliberate murder of four children cannot be described as protection." Father reveals mother was being investigated by authorities In the aftermath of the tragedy, Brady Harmon revealed he had previously received multiple letters from Saratoga County Child Protective Services informing him that concerns had been raised about the children's living conditions. He told the Albany Times Union that the final letter stated Myers was being investigated for Munchausen by proxy, a form of child abuse in which a caregiver fabricates or deliberately causes illness in a child. According to Brady, a therapist concluded Myers had been negligent but determined the children were not in immediate danger. "Nothing happened after that," he said. He also described the condition of Myers' apartment when he later collected his children's belongings, claiming it was filled with cat urine and feces. The cat has since been rescued by the Mechanicville Housing Authority and rehomed. Brady said he does not know who originally contacted Child Protective Services but believes someone connected to the Mechanicville City School District may have raised concerns before Myers withdrew the children from school in 2024 to homeschool them. Why Democratic Socialists Are Causing Stir Amid Favorability Concerns New

Why Democratic Socialists Are Causing Stir Amid Favorability Concerns

Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) are viewed more unfavorably than MAGA and President Donald Trump, but the most prominent Democratic socialist politicians are viewed more favorably, according to a Marquette Law School poll released on Wednesday.DSA-backed candidates surged in recent Democratic primaries, securing victories in places like New York City, Philadelphia and Denver. But many in the Democratic establishment are nervous about the momentum behind the DSA movement. They have raised concern that DSA candidates could become an albatross for the party and alienate independent voters ahead of the November midterm election as the party works to flip seats with the hope of gaining control of the House and Senate. The new poll released Wednesday sheds new light on how Americans view DSA candidates compared to MAGA.In a statement to Newsweek, White House spokesperson Allison Schuster wrote: “The Democrats’ full-blown embrace of socialism and communism is a mortal threat to American liberty. President Trump will never allow America to become a socialist or communist country.”Newsweek reached out to the DSA for comment via email.Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, left, speaks during an election night event in Brooklyn, New York, on November 4, 2025. President Donald Trum... | ANGELA WEISS/AFP via Getty Images and Anna Moneymaker/Getty ImagesDSA Faces Poor Favorability RatingsDSA’s favorability rating stood at -30 points in the new Marquette poll, with 24 percent of respondents saying they view the organization favorably and 54 percent viewing it unfavorably. Twenty-two percent said they had not heard enough to give their view on it. That marks a slight decline in favorability since April, when its net favorability stood at -28 points in Marquette’s polling.Among independent voters, 13 percent viewed DSA favorably, compared to 46 percent who viewed it unfavorably.Individual Democratic socialist candidates were viewed slightly less unfavorably, with 31 percent viewing them favorably and 53 percent unfavorably.Meanwhile, MAGA’s favorability stood at -26 points, with 35 percent viewing the conservative movement favorably and 61 percent unfavorably, according to the poll. Itsa favorability has declined from -19 points in July 2025.Seventeen percent of independent voters said they view MAGA favorably, compared to 69 percent viewing it unfavorably, according to the poll. The poll, which surveyed 1,076 adults nationwide from July 22-29 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.2 percentage points, sought to differentiate between how voters view the DSA as an organization versus candidates who describe themselves as democratic socialists but are not necessarily connected to the organization. Vermont independent Senator Bernie Sanders, for instance, is not a member of the DSA but identifies as a Democratic socialist. The poll divided respondents into two random samples: half were asked about their view of the organization, while the other half were asked about candidates.Despite poor views of DSA overall, some of its most prominent lawmakers are viewed less unfavorably than Trump and members of his administration, according to the poll, which broadly found all national politicians included in the survey underwater in terms of personal favorability.Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, an independent and Democratic socialist, was viewed favorably by 45 percent of respondents and unfavorably by 47 percent. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s favorability rating stood at -6 points, with 33 percent viewing him favorably and 39 percent unfavorably.New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s net favorability rating was -11 in the poll, with 32 percent viewing her favorably and 43 percent unfavorably.Meanwhile, Trump’s favorability stood at -22 points, with 38 percent viewing him favorably and 60 percent unfavorably. Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s was -11 percent, viewed favorably by 34 percent of respondents and unfavorably by 45 percent. Vice President JD Vance was viewed favorably by 38 percent and unfavorably by 54 percent for a net of -16.Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was viewed favorably by 23 percent of respondents, with 45 percent saying they viewed him unfavorably for a -22 net. What Do Other Polls Show?A new poll from Ipsos and The Washington Post similarly found that many Americans hold negative views of the DSA. It found that 15 percent said they like political leaders who identify as Democratic socialists, compared to 36 percent who dislike them. Forty-six percent said they neither like nor dislike them.Fifty-five percent of respondents said they would not consider voting for a Democratic socialist, while 39 percent said they would consider it, according to the poll of 2,648 U.S. adults July 8-13.A Pew Research Center poll found that 17 percent of Americans like a political leader who identifies as a Democratic socialist, compared to 38 percent who dislike leaders who do so.DSA describes democratic socialism as a system "where ordinary people have a real voice in our workplaces, neighborhoods, and society.""We want a democracy that creates space for us all to flourish not just survive and answers the fundamental questions of our lives with the input of all. We want to collectively own the key economic drivers that dominate our lives, such as energy production and transportation. We want the multiracial working class united in solidarity instead of divided by fear," the DSA website reads.DSA members typically support progressive policies like single-payer healthcare and the Green New Deal. The key difference between democratic socialism and other forms of socialism is that democratic socialism maintains that any move toward a more socialist economy must happen through democratic institutions, civil liberties and competitive elections, not through centralized or authoritarian control. The philosophy supports a socially owned economy but believes it should be achieved through political democracy. It also emphasizes individual rights.Merriam-Webster defines democratic socialism as a “political movement calling for the establishment of a decentralized socialist economic system within a democratically run political system.” It defines socialism as “any of various egalitarian economic and political theories or movements advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.”It’s also different from communism, which is defined as a “totalitarian system of government in which a single authoritarian party controls state-owned means of production.”Democratic socialist-backed candidates have won in several key primaries this year. Incumbents like Ocasio-Cortez and Representative Rashida Tlaib of Michigan won primaries and are poised to be joined by other Democratic socialists in Congress after the November general election. In Michigan, DSA-backed Donavan McKinney defeated Representative Shri Thanedar in the Detroit-based 13th District on Tuesday, the latest victory for an insurgent challenger. In New York, DSA candidate Claire Valdez won an open seat held by Representative Nydia Velázquez, who has served in Congress since 1993 but is not seeking reelection. Darializa Avila Chevalier unseated Representative Adriano Espaillat in a rare instance in which an incumbent, particularly one who had not faced any major scandals, loses to an insurgent challenger.Chris Rabb, backed by the DSA, also won an open primary in a Philadelphia-based district. In Colorado, Democratic socialist Melat Kiros defeated Representative Diana DeGette in a Denver-based district. All four are likely to easily win their elections in November, as they are running in some of the most Democratic seats in the country. That means three new DSA-supported candidates are likely to join the two current DSA members in the House—Ocasio-Cortez and Tlaib. In Washington, D.C., Democratic socialist Janeese Lewis-George won the Democratic mayoral primary and is poised to win in November. All of those victories are in safe Democratic areas, but some in the party worry about the possibility of Republicans tying more moderate Democrats in swing districts to the DSA ahead of the midterms. The next major test for DSA will be Wisconsin’s governor's race, where DSA candidate Francesca Hong is leading polls ahead of the August 11 Democratic primary against Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley. If Hong pulls off a victory, the race could become the most prominent test for the DSA in a battleground state.Contact Newsweek editors on this story: Jason Lemon and Dave Siminoff.

Billie Eilish's Stunning Transformation: Unrecognizable on Set

Billie Eilish is totally transformed for her leading role in “The Bell Jar.” Sean O'Neill / BACKGRIDFans don’t even recognize Billie Eilish as she transforms for her upcoming role.Paparazzi photos from the Toronto set of the psychological thriller movie based on Sylvia Plath’s “The Bell Jar” show a red-lipped Eilish looking a far cry from her pop star persona. The period piece not only has all in the cast dressed in their 1950s best, but Eilish sports her dark brown hair cut to shoulder length and held back by a matching percher hat.Eilish, 24, is set to play protagonist Esther Greenwood — the aspiring writer who sits at the heart of the 1963 novel. She slipped into a 1950’s aesthetic, looking totally different from her pop star persona. Sean O'Neill / BACKGRIDFans were shocked at the transformation, claiming they would not have recognized the “Bad Guy” singer on screen. Sean O'Neill / BACKGRIDIn some of the behind-the-scenes snaps, Eilish wears a fitted short-sleeve knit in a cherry red so bright it perfectly matches her painted lips. In others, she’s styled in a waist-nipped blue button-front dress. Her makeup is minimal save for her bold lipstick choice; her hair is parted at the side and she wears a pair of pearl earrings.A Reddit thread quickly emerged among the “Bad Guy” singer’s fans to discuss the multi-hyphenate’s new look.“It took me too long to realize it was her. I was like ‘wow that actor looks just like Billie Eilish’” wrote one commenter.Another agreed, “She does NOT look like a pop star at all and one of the most challenging thing to do as an actor is disappearing into a role.”“The Bell Jar” is based on Sylvia Plath’s 1963 novel of the same name. Zendaya's 'Perfect' Makeover Sparks Outrage: What Fans Are Saying New

Zendaya's 'Perfect' Makeover Sparks Outrage: What Fans Are Saying

Zendaya has long been hailed as one of Hollywood's most striking stars, but a viral video digitally altering her face to fit a so-called 'mathematically perfect' standard has sparked a debate over beauty standards and thousands of fans rushing to defend her. The clip, which has racked up millions of views across TikTok and other platforms, shows an artist gradually editing the actress' facial features using the concept of the 'golden ratio', a formula that is supposed to measure facial attractiveness. Removing her unique, natural features, the artist slims the Spider-Man star’s nose, reshapes and enlarges her eyes, lifts her brows, and makes other not-so-subtle changes to create a more symmetrical appearance. Zendaya is now reportedly married to Tom Holland. Credit: Emma McIntyre/Getty Viewers were outraged about the changes made Of course, the stunning star ended up looking entirely different, and instead of convincing viewers that the final result was an improvement, many were left angry. In the comment section, fans agreed that the edited version no longer looked like Zendaya at all. Many said the transformation erased the unique features that make the Emmy-winning actress so beautiful and recognisable, with some arguing that chasing mathematical 'perfection' actually stripped away her natural beauty. Here's the video to see for yourself: One person commented: “I think her original face is way more beautiful.” Another commenter agreed, saying: “She is beautiful as she is and does not need to change a thing.” Someone else rightly added: "Uh no!!! Don’t know what this golden ratio is. Peoples [sic] unique facial features is what makes them beautiful. And Zendaya is already a goddess." Zendaya is hailed as a unique natural beauty. Credit: Frazer Harrison/Getty TikTok users labelled the 'golden ratio' a Eurocentric beauty standard Several social media users also pointed out that the golden ratio appears to favour white or Eurocentric facial features, sparking wider conversations about racism and beauty standards. A TikTok user said: “Anyone realize they’re whitewashing her? "That the golden ratio is a European white standard? Zendaya is much more attractive than this manipulation of her, honestly.” Someone else added: “This kind of content causes so much harm to young impressionable girls.” While many creators make the videos as harmless entertainment or digital experiments, they can reinforce unrealistic expectations by suggesting that even some of the world's most beautiful women need to be 'fixed.' The reaction to this video is reassuring, as the vast majority of people agreed that they preferred the original, arguing that the actress' distinctive features are exactly what make her beautiful. Chris Brown's On-Stage Antics Spark Outrage: What Really Happened? New

Chris Brown's On-Stage Antics Spark Outrage: What Really Happened?

The woman who was part of an NSFW act on-stage with Chris Brown has spoken out about the incident for the first time. It came just days after Brown's tourmate, Usher, made headlines for all the wrong reasons after bringing a female audience member up on stage to share a steamy moment, which turned awkward. The 'Loyal' artist is currently on tour with Usher as part of the R&B Tour across North America, running from June to December this year. But Brown raised some eyebrows with the segment during his performance at the JMA Wireless Dome in Syracuse, New York, as he simulated sex with a fan. Brown usually invites an audience member up during his shows to share an intimate moment during a rendition of his 2007 hit, 'Take You Down'. On Saturday night (August 1), he invited a female audience member up, tying her against a pole, moving her up and down the pole as he thrusted into her , before starting to kiss her neck, which prompted cheers from the crowd. Now, she has spoken out about the moment for the first time. Chris Brown's steamy exchange with a fan did the rounds on social media. Credit: X What happened on-stage with Chris Brown? The woman, who has now been identified online as Kareema Divine, didn't hold back with her emotions, as she could be seen with a daring smile while letting out a moan as he laid one on her neck. More footage of the on-stage interaction was soon released, showing Brown bringing the woman to an on-stage bed, where they partook in more NSFW simulated activities for thousands in the crowd to see, including simulating oral sex and licking up to her chest, before a smooch. If that wasn't enough, clips from other parts of the segment show Brown licking the sweat off her body while she's tied up. After clips of the exchange garnered millions of views, the woman has finally spoken out, seeming unfazed by all the attention. Woman speaks about her experience Kareema's TikTok profile reveals that she is a dancer, artist and content creator. Just two days after her moment with Brown, she posted a video seemingly wearing the same black outfit as seen in the viral clip. She captioned the video, 'a time was had baybee', while she posed and mouthed the lyrics to a song which was performed at the concert. After her outfit reveal, the TikToker hit back at criticism by lip-syncing to Natalie Nunn’s viral sound 'I do what I want,' which is repeated throughout the video. Gracie McGraw Reveals Shocking Impact of Ozempic on Her Health New

Gracie McGraw Reveals Shocking Impact of Ozempic on Her Health

Tim McGraw and Faith Hill’s daughter Gracie McGraw opened up about the effect Ozempic had on her. Gracie, 29, took to her Instagram Story on Monday, August 3, to share that after she started taking Ozempic in 2022 following her PCOS diagnosis, she initially “thought it was the best decision [she] ever made.” “I finally lost weight and got skinny,” she wrote, per Page Six. “Yes, it f***ing worked and made my PCOS symptoms easier to control, but it also brought back my ED and negative views on my body.” Gracie went on to say that she got “way too skinny” on the weight loss drug. “I realized, ‘Holy crap, I have been feeding into my eating disorder this whole time under the guise of this miracle shot.’” Now, looking back, Gracie views Ozempic as “one of the worst things” she’s ever done for herself. She also noted that she’s no longer taking the injection and is gaining weight back. Gracie reflected on her Ozempic journey, sharing that she got “more opportunities” when she lost weight than she “ever” had before. “I’ve been called fat and ugly my entire life, whether that had been from magazines or the internet,” she added, claiming that she was compared to her sisters, Maggie, 27, and Audrey, 24, because of the “different genes” she had. While she is now “doing so good,” Gracie got candid about still having “slip-ups from time to time.” “Having concern for someone doesn’t also mean you can’t have empathy for their situation,” Gracie added, shutting down body-shamers. “But telling people to not speak on this is incredibly wrong and damaging. It’s promoting created thinness as [a] goal, not as danger. We are at a time when we need to be taking care of ourselves and our people.” Gracie previously opened up about taking Ozempic in 2023. At the time, she posed a bikini pic of herself and playfully wrote, “It’s a gorgeous day for narcissism!” A hater then tried to call her out for using Ozempic, to which Gracie replied, “I did use Ozempic last year, yes. I am now on a low dose of Mounjaro for my PCOS as well as working out. No need to accuse when I have been open about it.” If you or someone you know struggles with an eating disorder, visit the National Alliance for Eating Disorders website or call their hotline at (866) 662-1235. New York's Assisted Suicide Law Sparks Heated Debate: What Does It Mean for the Terminally Ill? New

New York's Assisted Suicide Law Sparks Heated Debate: What Does It Mean for the Terminally Ill?

New York’s controversial assisted suicide law went into effect on Wednesday, allowing terminally-ill adults to request life-ending medication from their doctors. The “Medical Aid in Dying Act,” signed by Gov. Kathy Hochul in February, had faced blowback from religious institutions, including the Catholic Church, which called it an example of “throwaway culture” that disvalues life. “This new law signals our government’s abandonment of its most vulnerable citizens, telling people who are sick or disabled that suicide in their case is not only acceptable, but is encouraged by our elected leaders,” the New York State Catholic Conference railed in a statement.A protest against the Medical Aid in Dying Act outside the New York state Assembly chamber on June 8, 2023. Albany Times Union via Getty ImagesUnder the law, adults with 6 months or less to live will have the option to receive lethal meds from their doctors. The self-administered euthanasia meds are only legal for patients who are 18 years or older and have a terminal prognosis that would likely end their life within six months.“Terminally ill New Yorkers with fewer than six months to live deserve the right to die with dignity,” said Manhattan Borough President Brad Hoylman-Sigal, who sponsored the bill’s 2025 iteration as a state senator. “Today is a historic day for compassion, dignity, and personal autonomy in New York State,” he said. New Yorkers seeking the life-ending treatment have to make both a written and verbal request to their health care provider and be of sound mind, and also must be physically able to self-administer the drug.Gov. Jerusalem's Tensions Rise: What Unseen Changes Could Spark a Crisis? New

Jerusalem's Tensions Rise: What Unseen Changes Could Spark a Crisis?

If months of war between the U.S. and Iran have taught us anything, it’s the importance of choke-points. The world now understands why the Strait of Hormuz is so powerful: whoever controls passage can disrupt economies and compel governments far beyond the waterway. There is another chokepoint in the region through which no oil or goods pass. Control over it is changing, though, and that change brings potential for yet more conflict. Jerusalem’s holiest and most contested religious site, known as Temple Mount to Jews and the Noble Sanctuary to Muslims—or the "Al-Aqsa compound" after the mosque built there—has for decades been at the center of a delicate, unwritten arrangement between Israel and Jordan.Israeli police and the Jordanian Waqf religious organization have together managed the site exactly like a chokepoint, controlling which worshippers may enter, at what time, by which route, and what they may do after entering. Previous clashes at the site triggered riots and uprisings in which thousands of people died, but the arrangement continued to hold. But in recent months, Israeli police, under the direction of hard-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir, have been changing the rules. Today, the Kingdom of Jordan is hosting senior ministers from some 13 Arab and Islamic nations to figure out what to do about it.At best, the outcome will probably complicate relations between Israel and the Muslim world. The worst doesn't bear thinking about. The Status Quo Is SlippingTheir concern centers on a 35-acre plot of land in Jerusalem’s Old City that is home to key holy sites in Islam and Judaism. For Muslims, the compound contains the Dome of the Rock shrine and Al-Aqsa Mosque, their third-holiest site. It is revered by Jews as their holiest site where two ancient temples once stood until the second was torn down by the Romans in 70 AD....When Israel captured East Jerusalem and the Old City from Jordan in the 1967 Six-Day War, Israelis recognized the importance of the site for Muslims and allowed the Waqf—a Jordanian-supported religious authority—to administer the Islamic sites there. The Waqf’s administrative powers were subsequently reinforced in 1994, when the Israel-Jordan peace treaty recognized Jordan’s "special role" in maintaining the Muslim holy shrines in Jerusalem. For nearly six decades, the arrangement has been known as the "status quo." While Israel maintains control over East Jerusalem, under the terms of the unwritten agreement, Muslims may pray and enter the Al-Aqsa compound with few restrictions. Non-Muslims, including Jews, may visit only during limited time slots, through a single gate, and crucially, without prayer. Jewish prayer is generally conducted at the Western Wall below the compound. This is the best arrangement Israel and Jordan could manage. But it has never satisfied everyone.Jewish activists have long argued that barring worship at Judaism’s holiest site is discriminatory and violates freedom of worship. Jordanians, Palestinians and many Muslim authorities see Jewish prayer at the compound as a violation of an arrangement meant to prevent a religious dispute from becoming a fight for sovereignty.Writing New Rules for a Spiritual StraitIsrael has not formally announced that it is ending Jordanian custodianship of the Al-Aqsa compound, or formally dividing the territory. Instead, its police force is steadily challenging the decades-long arrangement by relaxing restrictions on Jewish visitors. The tide first shifted in January, when police allowed Jewish visitors to bring printed prayer sheets onto the Temple Mount for the first time. This coincided with the appointment of a new chief of police by Ben Gvir, who has openly campaigned to restore full right to worship for Jews in the compound. When pressed for his opinion by reporters, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: "The changes Ben Gvir is making are not changing the status quo, and it is in coordination with me."In February, during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, police expanded visiting hours for Jews and tourists. Since then, intermittent reports have documented more moves by the Israeli police to limit Muslim influence at the compound. A report by The Guardian cited Waqf sources alleging police had prevented employees from carrying out maintenance, detained several of them without charge, and denied imams access to the compound.Taken together, these measures slowly transfer effective control from the Waqf to the Israeli police and turn a conflict-management arrangement into an assertion of sovereignty.Things came to a head last month on Tisha B’Av—a day of fast on which Jews mark the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem. Ben Gvir climbed the Temple Mount alongside some 2,000 Jewish worshippers and filmed a video for social media in which he declared: "Jews are praying and feel that they are the rightful owners here. Everywhere, people understand that the State of Israel is the sovereign authority."This very public flouting of the unwritten agreement was the last straw for Muslim authorities.Today, Jordan hosts ministers from Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Iraq, the Palestinian Authority, Qatar, Egypt, Morocco, Pakistan, Turkey, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Their aim is to "formulate a common position in confronting the escalatory and illegitimate Israeli measures that target the identity of Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sanctuaries," according to a statement issued by the foreign ministry. There's no telling what steps the group will ultimately agree on, or how they intend to roll back Israel's increasing influence, if at all. But relations between those states and Israel could well take a turn for the worse. It doesn't bode well for President Donald Trump’s demands that Saudi Arabia and Israel normalize their ties, either. Before It Gets Better, It Can Get Much WorseThe religious sensitivity of the site has caused tensions to boil over on several occasions.Israeli opposition leader Ariel Sharon visited the compound surrounded by armed guards in September 2000. After years of perceived slights, the provocation triggered a violent revolt by Palestinians in the West Bank against Israel—the Second Intifada. More than 3,000 Palestinians and more than 1,000 Israelis were killed in the fighting. In 2017, Israel installed metal detectors at the compound after three Arab citizens of Israel killed two Israeli police officers stationed there. The move sparked violent protests, and Israeli authorities quickly removed the equipment to avoid triggering another conflict....Those episodes do not prove that every change at the compound causes violence, but they show how new security measures introduced without consent, or provocative visits by powerful figures, can lead to catastrophe. What’s more, the latest moves by Israeli police and the likes of Ben Gvir to reshape the arrangement in Jerusalem come at a time when the whole region is in turmoil.Netanyahu this week poured cold water over the Board of Peace plans for an Israeli withdrawal from Gaza, saying Israel would not pull back from its current lines until Hamas was completely disarmed. The U.S. and Iran are locked in a cycle of on-again, off-again conflict with global economic consequences. The Gulf States, pulled into the fighting, are on high alert, and Yemen’s Houthis are threatening the Red Sea. All this as Israel gears up for a pivotal election in October that could decide the fate of Netanyahu and his hard-right backers in government. These ingredients create an extremely volatile mixture, turning the tiny Temple Mount or Al-Aqsa compound into a spiritual Strait of Hormuz. If it explodes, conflict in the Middle East will be reinforced with yet more complexity—the religious kind that makes compromise far harder and mobilization far easier.
